Job Summary

Provide day-to-day direction and oversight to clinical support staff (RN’s, MA’s, and Tech’s) for Internal Medicine and Medicine Specialty clinics. Aligns nursing and clinical care to maintain patient safety, meet quality outcomes and patient experience goals.. Collaborates, and takes direction, from CNO and Sr. Director of Nursing and Allied Health in support of organizational strategies to improve clinical quality, patient throughput, and standardization of workflows and processes.

Essential Duties

  • Formulates clinical objectives, goals, and strategies collaboratively with other stakeholders.
  • Provides leadership for initiatives to improve/maintain a positive work climate to improve patient experience and employee engagement
  • Prepares and delivers reports to Executive and Operational leadership, outlining progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives..
  • Delivers overall programmatic and clinical support to assure consistency and continuity in the provision of services.
  • Effectively manages clinical supplies and medications used in the clinics to minimize waste and ensure proper inventory controls.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings to optimize efficiency, increase volume, and enhance Patient Experience.
  • Collaborates with Chief Nursing Officer and Sr. Director of Nursing to train, coach, and mentor clinical staff to meet performance expectations and goals. Provides input to executive clinical leadership on opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develops staffing plans and work schedules, in accordance with best practices, to ensure department is staffed with qualified personnel.
  • Manages leave approval to ensure clinic coverage and provider support.

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

  • 7+ years nursing 
  • 3+ years in leadership role
  • Proven experience as clinical director or other managerial position in an ambulatory healthcare setting.
