Position Summary
Assists and provides care for patients undergoing Interventional Radiology procedures in Radiology and Cath Lab. Supports the daily operations of the Interventional Radiology service under the direction of the Office Manager and Leading Physician. This position serves as the primary owner of physician satisfaction regarding the patients for imaging services in the Adventist HealthCare OP Imaging System.  He/she will work closely with the IR Physician and other modalities to ensure proper coordination of services on behalf of referring physicians and their patients. The Interventional Radiology Nurse will report directly to the Office Manager. This office provides outpatient-based procedures. This Interventional Radiology Nurse will be responsible for managing all clinical issues on the floor, protocols and policies limited supervision. He/she will attend meetings and participates in special committees, perform other duties and assignments as necessary. Maintains patient confidentiality and protects operations by keeping information confidential and following HIPAA guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities   
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assists the physician staff (Interventional Radiologist) in performing the procedures.
  • Provides input for content within policies and protocols relating to the Interventional Radiology services in conjunction with the IR Radiologist and Office Manager.
  • Monitors supply levels and communicates to Office manager when supplies specific to Interventional procedures are running low.
  • Functions as a team member of the Radiology department and supports all staff and procedures that require RN level of skills/abilities.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Must be a licensed RN with at least 1-year experience post-graduation. Previous procedural or Critical care experience is preferred.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Able to multitask in a busy environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, access, power point required).
Must have good time management skills and the ability to be flexible with their work schedule.
Must take direction well.
Must be able to wear PPE while assisting with procedures i.e. Lead aprons.
Ability to give Moderate sedation according to CPOE and hospital policy.
Ability to monitor and support patients that are hemodynamically stable and identify those that are    unstable and know how to respond.
Ability to triage patients and highlight issues or critical values to the MD.
