Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work within Nurse-Physician Care Team based Ambulatory Practice model caring for Medical Hematology/Oncology patients.
- Provide clinical support to staff members, and assist with the management of a caseload of patients.
- Perform patient assessment, symptom management, telephone triage, assist with prior authorization and offer patient/family education.
- Act as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required, Master of Science in Nursing preferred
Licensure
- Current DC licensure as a Registered Nurse, or evidence of application submission.
- Current BCLS
- OCN/BMTCN preferred, required to obtain certification within 1 year if not certified at time of hire
Experience
- 1 year of experience in Oncology nursing required
- Outpatient Medical Oncology experience strongly preferred
- Ambulatory experience preferred
