Position Summary

The Hardware/Device Integration Analyst for the Epic project is responsible for all end-user computing devices used by MFA clinicians and staff.  This includes, but is not limited to desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and medical equipment attached to these end-user devices or other MFA network infrastructure.  The Analyst will also be responsible for end user device administration tools used to acquire inventory information as well as maintain the full catalog of hardware.  Where appropriate, the Analyst will formulate recommendations to the Technical Project Manager regarding upgrades to existing hardware platforms and adding new, previously unused devices and platforms.  The Hardware/Device Analyst will work closely with, and reports directly to, the Technical Project Manager. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Executes and maintains a complete inventory of all MFA endpoint hardware using knowledge of CPU, memory, and other hardware components of desktop and laptop computers. Endpoint hardware includes specialty keyboards, monitors, printers, scanners and medical equipment.

  • Acquires and maintains an inventory of all MFA mobile devices including smartphones and tablets that may be used to acquire and/or display Epic Electronic Health Records or Practice Management information.

  • Creates user hardware inventory records and map them to staff classification templates built by application coordinators/analysts.

  • Creates and maintains procedures to activate, deactivate, and update hardware inventory records.

  • Understands the Epic endpoint hardware/software requirements, including device profiles, roles, and end-user classifications. Helps evaluate whether MFA’s existing workstations are adequate for Epic use.  Understands the general needs for end-user device administration.


College Degree Desired:
•         Bachelor’s degree (IT/Healthcare Focus Preferred) OR
•         Associate’s degree with at least two (2) years’ relevant experience OR
  • HS Diploma with six (6) years’ relevant experience and certifications


  • 3 years minimum experience in healthcare or healthcare-related organization with end user support preferred.  Additional experience may be required based upon assignment.
