Position Summary

The Business Data & Strategic Planning Analyst will provide analytical support to the organization’s leadership specifically around financial and strategic planning. The analyst will be responsible for developing analytical models that inform key business decisions and will clearly communicate findings and bring recommendations to leadership. The role will focus on identifying, analyzing and monitoring issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for working with internal or external client to identify analytical requirements; provide business data interpretation and analysis.
  • Work with internal teams to identify key business issues, articulate problem, apply right analytical framework, develop solution and recommendations, present findings to stakeholders.
  • Ability to actively manage and deliver on expectations around project activities, timelines, deliverables, outcomes, etc.
  • Develop data requests, ensures data validity and relevance, and identifies options to address issues
  • Construct flexible analytical models and develop and test assumptions
  • Develop financial models to articulate, evaluate, validate, influence and support business objectives and strategies
  • Draw insights from analytic outputs and uses data to tell a story to drive action
  • Craft presentation-ready communications to highlight key analytical insights and recommendations to team members and leadership, using strong written and verbal communication
  • Provide to the organization excellent analysis utilizing data from a variety of internal and external sources including but not limited to: Operating Budget, business intelligence, revenue modeling, etc. 



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Health Care Management, or other related area is required;
  • MBA, MHA or MPH is preferred.


  • 3-5 years of relevant, progressive healthcare experience ideally at a healthcare provider, payer or management consulting firm
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and modeling data and then synthesizing findings into leadership-level business recommendations.
  • Broad understanding of health care financial and reporting environment.
  • Significant industry knowledge of the economics of medical services.
  • Experience working in a flexible, ambiguous, and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent customer service, project management and strategic planning skills.
